“And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,” (Ephesians 4:11-15, NASB95)

Christianity,

Church Loan Funded

Our church, Church on the Hill, funded a $2.3 million loan in order to make some much needed changes.

  • $1.5 Million - Pay off an existing loan that was used for building the Achiever Christian School.
  • $500,000 - For replacing the heating / air conditioning unit
  • $250,000 - For an athletic field using state-of-the-art turf instead of live grass.
  • $56,000 - For Children’s Ministry remodeling.

The proposal to fund the changes using a loan was presented by the lead pastor and staff to everyone in the church. They arranged small group meetings to present that plans so that small groups would have a chance to ask questions and have discussion. The church later voted over 90% approval to fund the loan.

Open Door Metaphor

?To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open. I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.? (Revelation 3:7-8, NIV)

In other placed in scripture, the open door commonly refers to evangelism. However, this scripture is more likely not referring to the common open door metaphor found elsewhere in the New Testament.

Family,

Fisher Price Step and Play

We had been planning to wait for Christmas to get Matthew one of those exersaucers. Actually my mother was wanting to get it for him. However, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that now is really the best time to get it. He’s at the perfect age to enjoy it, so it’s better that we get our moneys worth out of it.
